Volunteer - Indirect Service Activities

Indirect Service Activities involve little or no direct contact with our clients, but provide support for people in need. These opportunities are appropriate for groups of all ages but are especially ideal for groups of 16 years of age or younger.

Infant Items Needed!

The Pregnancy, Parenting and Adoption program is currently in need of infant items, especially: infant and/or toddler car seats, Pack¹n Play cribs (new or gently used), Baby Wipes, and diapers sizes 1, 5, and 6. New mothers are unable to discharge their newborn babies from the hospital without an infant car seat. Coat and Jacket Donation: Coat & jacket donations are needed for our refugee clients!

School Supplies Drive: Collect backpacks, notebooks, pens, markers, calculators, dictionaries, and crayons to be distributed to children who attend Catholic Charities tutoring programs, adults who attend ESL classes, and children of families in need who come to us for help.

Clothing Drive: Outer clothing (coats) needed for all ages and sizes. They should be in good condition and will be distributed to people throughout the winter (accepted October-January). Adult clothing packages: shirt, pair of pants, underwear and socks for one person placed in a bag marked with the size.

Baby item-drive: Collect diapers, wipes, diaper bags, bottles, formula (Enfamil Lipil), baby food (different stages), baby books, developmental infant toys, shoes, socks, baby bath items and blankets. Also needed: clothing in excellent condition sized from Newborn to 24 months, “Pack and Plays,” and sheets.

Food Drive: The food pantry in Marietta needs replenishing with non-perishable foods.

Assemble Hygiene kits: Hold a hygiene product drive and assemble into hygiene kits. Items needed include toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, and deodorant. Individual kits are given to detainees represented by our Immigration Program.

Christmas Giving: Collect new toys, books and gifts for children in Catholic Charities tutoring program.

Christmas Connection: Provide necessities and Christmas gifts to a needy family.

Chest of Drawers: Obtain a used but serviceable chest of drawers (repair and painting is a good hands on option) and fill it with items for 1) a newborn baby whose mother is a client of Pregnancy, Parenting & Adoption or 2) a refugee, asylee or child who is a victim of trafficking. Match the age of the child with the class.

Welcome Box Drive: Hold a drive to help someone setting up a household: a refugee family or a young parent making a home for a child. See below for suggestions.

Start with a bucket, ADD:
