Why Spiritual Care Matters
Helping older adults to “finish well” requires caregivers/professionals to provide not only “quality care”
but help support the “quality of life” of the elder. Tending to the “quality of life” means caregivers/
professionals have to find ways to connect to the “spirit” of the elder along with recognizing the
importance of connecting to their own spirit.
Program Highlights
1. What does it mean to “finish well”?
2. How to identify and assist elders experiencing a “spiritual crisis”.
3. Defining “spiritual caregiving, spirit and soul”.
4. Connecting to the spirit of the elder.
5. Connecting to your own spirit while providing care.
