We are in desperate need! 150 Refugees are arriving in 2008! Please help!

Donate Furniture

Refugee Resettlement Services furnishes apartments for newly arriving Refugee families. We accept gently used furnishings and house wares. Unfortunately, we can not accept items in need of cleaning or repair. We have limited resources for picking up donations. Please consult the lists below and then call 404-885-7271, to request pick-up or schedule drop-off.

Items we accept include:

Sofas
Dining tables and chairs
small appliances (microwaves, toaster ovens)
Linens: bath and bed
Dressers
Armchairs
House wares (lamps, dishes, pots and pans, flatware)
Coffee tables, end tables, bedside tables
We accept donations of outerwear (coats) and school supplies at our office in Midtown.

Items we do NOT accept include:

items in need of repair or cleaning
Computers, televisions
large appliances (refrigerators, washers/dryers, stoves, etc.)
office furniture
exercise equipment
any items staff determines we cannot safely transport

Welcome Box Drive

Hold a donation drive in your work place, church or school. Refugees need all of the following items listed:

Bathroom Box
Start with a medium laundry basket, ADD:

4 bath towels
2 hand towels
4 face cloths
4 toilet paper
2 bars soap
4 toothbrushes
1 tube toothpaste
1 deodorant
1 bottle shampoo
1 disposable razor
1 can cleanser
1 thermometer
1 laundry soap

Kitchen Box

Start with kitchen trash can, ADD:

4 plates
4 cups
4 glasses
4 forks
4 spoons
4 knives
4 soup bowls
2 cooking pots
1 frying pan1 can opener
1 paring knife
1 carving knife
1 spatula
3 plastic containers
1 stove top teapot
2 pot holders
1 tablecloth
1 package Paper napkins
2 dish towels
2 dishrags
1 dish soap
1 bar hand soap
1 large stew pot w/ cover
1 scrub brush
1 package Tall garbage bags

Bed Box
Start with a large Plastic Bag, ADD:

For double bed:

2 sets double sheets
1 blanket
1 quilt or bedspread
2 pillows
2 pillowcases

For single bed:

1 pillow
1 pillow case
1 blanket
1 bedspreads
1 set single sheets

Cleaning Kit

Start with a bucket, ADD:

1 broom
1 dustpan
2 rags
1 package sponges
1 scrub brush
1 white vinegar
1 non-toxic soap
1 baking soda
